The Secret Wine Cellar
It’s a wine room fit for James Bond. After this home was converted back and forth between single-family and apartments it found itself with two separate basements on different levels. The current homeowners always wanted a wine cellar and thought, what could be more fun than a hidden wine tasting room for their expansive collection? MCB came in and demoed the old cellar, started from scratch, and designed wainscotting and trim to match the existing house. We worked with engineers to create the hidden drawbridge that drops down covering the open stairwell leading into the room. Matching built-in wine racks, floor-to-ceiling wallpaper, and dimmable lighting throughout make this one-of-a-kind wine room the star of the party.
